These figures come from a query over our own publications, run every time this page is displayed. They describe what we cover — not a market, not an audience. We publish no statistic we haven't measured ourselves.

Method
Entities (places, organisations, people) are extracted automatically from each article, then reconciled against Wikidata where a match exists. An article counts once per entity it cites. Only genuinely published articles are counted, and the counters are computed language by language.
