Dounia Ettaib, Italian, Sanctioned by Washington for Alleged Links with Iranian Pasdaran
On July 16, 2026, the United States added Dounia Ettaib, an Italian citizen and former president of the Association of Arab Women in Italy, to its list of sanctions against Iran. Washington accuses her of having collaborated with the Pasdaran — an Iranian paramilitary organization under the direct authority of the Supreme Leader — to import components to Tehran intended for the manufacturing of missiles, aircraft, and drones. Ettaib was also known for her past connections with former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
