What we know

Russian shelling struck a residential area in the Chuhuiv district of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on August 10, 2026. At least five people were killed, according to local authorities cited by France 24.

That night, a Ukrainian drone attack killed at least 13 people, including a child, and injured 75 in Nizhnekamsk, according to Russian authorities. The city lies in Tatarstan, about 1,600 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.

The Ukrainian military claimed responsibility for the attack and said it had targeted the Taneko oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk.

A woman was also killed in Novaya Tavolzhanka, in Russia’s Belgorod region, during the night of August 10, 2026.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces intercepted and destroyed 456 Ukrainian drones over about 15 Russian regions and annexed Crimea.
