July 2026 is the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since April 2022, according to Kyiv government data cited by CNN. At least 377 civilians were killed and 2,129 wounded in Russian attacks. The strikes employed a high number of ballistic missiles, described as difficult to intercept, and targeted the capital Kyiv multiple times. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the final week of July saw the deployment of nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 guided air bombs, and more than 50 ballistic missiles.
