Ukraine: Drones Strike Gazprom Refinery; Russian Drone Hits Train in Odessa—7 Dead
On August 13, 2026, Ukraine's military command claimed a drone attack on the Neftekhim Salavat refinery, owned by Russia's state-controlled energy company Gazprom, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, roughly 1,400 km from Ukraine. According to local Russian authorities, 21 drones were deployed in the attack, with 16 shot down. Meanwhile, a Russian drone struck a passenger train in the Odessa region, killing the train driver and his assistant. All 340 passengers and crew aboard were evacuated to safety without further casualties. In total, 7 people died in the day's exchange of strikes, according to France Info and AFP.
