Newcastle in advanced talks to sign Amar Dedic from Benfica for about £30m
Newcastle United are in advanced talks with Benfica to sign right-back Amar Dedic for about £30 million, BBC Sport reported on August 15, 2026. The 23-year-old is being targeted after Kieran Trippier left for Wolverhampton on a free transfer this summer. Dedic previously worked with Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle at RB Salzburg and has made 31 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina. With Tino Livramento sidelined by a calf injury, Dedic could feature in Newcastle’s opening match against Liverpool on August 23, 2026, if the transfer is completed in time.
