Mota-Engil to Sign 30-Year Railway Concession in DRC for Copper and Cobalt Transport
According to Bloomberg, the Mota-Engil Group is on the verge of signing with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) a 30-year concession to operate a strategic railway network dedicated to transporting copper and cobalt. The deal would benefit from potential American financial support of up to 1 billion dollars. The announcement was published on August 26, 2026.
