Ceuta: Over 1,500 people arrived from Morocco in recent days
Over 1,500 people have arrived at Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the northern coast of Morocco, from Moroccan territory "in recent days," according to Spanish regional authorities announced on July 30, 2026. Local television channels filmed dozens of men and adolescents swimming to the shores of Ceuta. Ceuta is one of two terrestrial borders between the European Union and Africa. In May 2021, between 8,000 and 10,000 people had crossed from Morocco in less than 48 hours.
