In Geneva, a HUG house helps young adults with psychiatric disorders
Since 2012, Geneva's University Hospitals (HUG) have welcomed young adults with mental health disorders into a community house through their Community Integration Program (CIP). This initiative, part of HUG's Young Adult Psychiatry Unit, prioritizes community and integration as pathways to recovery. The house—a distinctive pink building in a residential neighborhood—is deliberately positioned far from the cold atmosphere of typical hospital settings. With mental health challenges rising among young adults, the program offers an alternative to conventional hospitalization.
