Gaza: Journalists Blocked From Working and Targeted Since the Military Offensive
Since the military offensive in Gaza began in response to the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, journalists have been prevented from working and have become targets. On August 25, 2026, an Israeli soldier described three information-warfare tactics used by the Israeli military: retrospectively linking people killed in strikes to Hamas, censoring information and funding pro-Israeli content designed to influence artificial intelligence systems. One year before August 25, 2026, the bombing of Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip killed 22 people, including five journalists.
