DRC: At least 31 civilians killed by Allied Democratic Forces in the northeast
At least 31 civilians have been killed during several attacks carried out by the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces), jihadist rebels who have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the days preceding July 28, 2026, according to Le Monde. In Ituri province, the group imposes taxes on residents and executes those who refuse to pay. Of Ugandan origin, the ADF have been operating in eastern DRC since the 1990s.
