Costa Rica: "El Diablo," Most-Wanted Drug Trafficker, Arrested After Decade on the Run
Alejandro Arias Monge, alias "El Diablo," considered Costa Rica's most-wanted drug trafficker, was arrested on July 25, 2026, according to Le Monde. He had been evading authorities for approximately a decade. His capture occurred while he was attending a meeting with other criminal leaders. A bounty of $500,000 had been offered for his arrest.
