Denmark: Official recommendations for tourists meeting wolves
Denmark has published official recommendations for tourists who encounter wolves in Jutland. The measure follows observations during winter and spring 2026: at least two young wolves approached humans at unusually short distances in the Oksbøl tourist area. Authorities advise staying still, maintaining eye contact, shouting and waving arms if the animal does not leave. No attacks have been recorded to date. Wolves naturally recolonized Jutland in 2012 after nearly two centuries of absence.
