At least eight US schools prepare pepper-projectile drones for armed attacks
At least eight US schools are preparing to install drones capable of spraying or firing pepper projectiles during armed attacks. According to The Guardian, four schools in Georgia, three in Florida and one in Colorado are involved. The drones can be operated from thousands of miles away and deployed in waves of three or four. Georgia has budgeted $550,000 for the program, while one Florida school plans to install 39 drones. Tony Montalto, whose daughter was killed in the 2018 Parkland shooting, criticizes the technology as reactive and calls for prevention to be prioritized.
