Nancy Guthrie missing for 6 months: family launches new appeal, no suspect arrested
Six months after disappearing in Tucson, Arizona, the family of Nancy Guthrie — 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, the lead anchor of NBC's Today morning show — launched a new public appeal on August 1, 2026. The family is asking anyone who recognizes the handwriting on ransom notes to come forward. On July 31, the Pima County Sheriff's Department released two contradictory notes: the first demands $4 million in bitcoin for her release, the second claims Nancy Guthrie is deceased. No suspects have been arrested to date.
