Yemen: Houthis claim large-scale missile attack on al-Makha port
The Houthis, a Zaydi Islamic organization with political and military branches classified as terrorist by some states, claimed on August 9, 2026 a large-scale and targeted missile and drone attack on al-Makha port on the Red Sea in Yemen. Their military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, described the operation as targeting Saudi troops and weapons depots. According to the port director, several missiles struck civilian areas within the port facility.
