Suspected Russian missile falls in Poland, prompting European condemnation
A suspected Russian missile has fallen in Poland, Le Monde reports. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz condemned what he called Russia’s “irresponsibility” and “willingness to escalate.” On Thursday, NATO’s Allied Command Operations in Europe said it was in close contact with the Polish authorities. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the incident as another “unacceptable violation” of European Union airspace. The missile’s Russian origin has not been confirmed and continues to be described as suspected.
