Ridge Barredo injures knee during 162 kg lift attempt
Australian weightlifter Ridge Barredo injured his knee during his third and final snatch attempt in the men’s 110 kg category at the Commonwealth Games. Barredo was attempting 162 kg on the Armadillo stage, according to ABC. He said he heard his knee come out and then go back into place. He initially rated the pain at eight or nine out of ten, before lowering that estimate to six or seven. The 30-year-old, competing at his third Commonwealth Games, said he still intends to continue his sporting career and return in four years.
