Shell posts $9.8 billion adjusted profit for the second quarter of 2026
Shell reported an adjusted profit of $9.8 billion (€8.6 billion) for the second quarter of 2026, according to Handelsblatt. The result rose 42% from the previous quarter and exceeded analysts’ expectations despite production disruptions in the Middle East. Higher oil and gas prices linked to the war in Iran supported earnings. Gas operations, hydrocarbon production and the chemicals business were the main contributors to the improvement. Shell also announced a new share buyback programme worth at least $3 billion.
