Aumovio Pays €350 Million to BMW to Settle Braking System Dispute
Automotive supplier Aumovio announced on July 30, 2026, a €350 million payment to BMW to settle a warranty dispute over an integrated braking system. The settlement vastly exceeded the €56 million initially provisioned, representing a €294 million shortfall. The payment weighs heavily on Aumovio's second quarter 2026 results, compressing adjusted EBIT to €50 million from €152 million absent the impact. The company revised its full-year 2026 guidance downward on both revenue and profit margin. Despite the financial strain, Aumovio and BMW simultaneously announced an expansion of their long-term technology partnership, signalling that their commercial relationship remains intact.
