Angus Taylor recalls his arrival in Australia’s Parliament and Liberal rivalries
Angus Taylor has recounted his move into Australian politics, from his 2012 campaign to the rivalry between Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull. In an interview published by ABC, he says he gradually learned how internal Liberal Party manoeuvring worked. Abbott suspected him of siding with Turnbull, while Turnbull believed he was aligned with Abbott. After Taylor was omitted from Turnbull’s first Cabinet, Abbott called him and said he was convinced Taylor had not participated in the leadership plot.
