Mexico’s economic activity grows 2.1% in the second quarter of 2026
Mexico’s economic activity increased by 2.1% year on year in the second quarter of 2026, reversing the contraction recorded during the first three months of the year. According to ANSA, this was the country’s strongest increase since late 2020. All three main sectors expanded, led by the primary sector with annual growth of 7.3%. Mexico’s Finance Ministry expects GDP to grow by between 1.8% and 2.8% in 2026, compared with forecasts of 1.1% from the market and 1.2% from the International Monetary Fund.
