France’s third heatwave spreads across the entire country
France’s third heatwave, under way since July 28, now extends across the entire country, according to Le Monde. Particularly high temperatures are expected from Wednesday, August 12, through Friday, August 14. The designation “heatwave” is based on specific criteria set by Météo-France, France’s national weather and climate service. The episode comes during a summer in which several wildfires have already affected France and Spain, while drought and heatwaves have contributed to fire conditions across southern Europe.
