Florin Șerban Wins Golden Leopard at 79th Locarno Film Festival
«You Don't Belong Here», directed by Romanian filmmaker Florin Șerban, has won the Golden Leopard at the 79th Locarno Film Festival. The film follows a surgeon who returns to run a small hospital in his provincial hometown, and his teenage son—whose involvement in the murder of an elderly Roma during a far-right extremist raid drives the narrative. Teodor Butănescu receives an honorable mention for his leading role debut as the son. Other major awards include the Special Jury Prize for Brazilian directors Matheus Farias and Enock Carvalho for «A Margem do Rio». Monica Bellucci won one of the festival's two acting awards, while Hong Sang-soo was honored for the third time at Locarno.
