Swiss: ground staff moves to 40-hour week under new collective agreement from 2027
Swiss and its unions have concluded a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for ground staff, effective January 1, 2027 for five years. The working week is reduced from 42 to 40 hours. A premium of CHF 7.50 per hour is introduced for Saturday work, and compensation for Sundays, public holidays, and night shifts increases by 20% from 2028 onwards. The SEV-GATA ground staff union approved the agreement with 62.1% in favor and a participation rate of 78.1%.
