Leonardo Rodriguez Sentenced to Five Years and Four Months in Prison After Fatal Crash
Leonardo Rodriguez, 21, has been sentenced to five years and four months in state prison following a fatal crash in 2024. He was driving a black Honda Accord southbound on U.S. 101 near Thousand Oaks when he attempted to pass another vehicle on the shoulder. After reaching 124 miles per hour, his car struck a parked semi-trailer, ejecting two passengers. Serenity Rizkalla, his girlfriend, and Michael Estrella, his friend, were pronounced dead at the scene. Rodriguez and another passenger sustained minor injuries. He pleaded guilty in June to two counts of vehicular involuntary manslaughter.
