Head of Hamas-led police in northern Gaza killed in Israeli strike; six dead on July 25
Brigadier-General Abdel-Nasser Al-Maqadma, head of Hamas-led police in northern Gaza and governor of the northern zone, was killed on July 25, 2026 in an Israeli airstrike in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City. Five other Palestinians died the same day in separate strikes, including a medical responder and a high school student. According to Gaza's Health Ministry, over 1,180 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza since the US-brokered October ceasefire.
