Los Angeles Lakers: Josh Kushner and Bob Iger buy controlling stake in $12.5 billion deal
Josh Kushner and Bob Iger are buying the controlling stake in the Los Angeles Lakers from Mark Walter in a deal valuing the team at $12.5 billion. The price is described as a record for an NBA franchise. The sale still requires approval from the NBA Board of Governors. Walter took control in October 2025 after the board unanimously approved his purchase of a majority stake from the Buss family, an earlier transaction reportedly valuing the Lakers at about $10 billion.
