Islamabad hospital fire kills at least 14 newborns
At least 14 newborns died on August 26, 2026, in a fire at a public hospital nursery in Islamabad, according to ABC, citing Geo TV. A dpa report published by Die Zeit put the death toll at 15. The nursery held at least 15 newborns when the fire began at about 6:45 a.m. local time. Local emergency services attributed the blaze to an air-conditioning failure.
