Abusera: Mega-airport construction officially launched near Addis Ababa
Construction of a mega-airport has officially begun on January 10 at Abusera, near Bishoftu, according to Il Sole 24 Ore. The site is located approximately 40 kilometers south of Addis Ababa. The first phase is expected to be completed by 2030, with a capacity of 60 million passengers per year. At full capacity, the project is designed to accommodate 110 million passengers and handle nearly 4 million tonnes of cargo.
