Three teenagers arrested over series of fires in Romont after new blaze on August 14
Three minors were arrested on August 15, 2026, in connection with a series of fires in Romont, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. The arrests followed a blaze on Rue du Château at about 9:30 p.m. on August 14. No one was injured. The suspects—one 16-year-old Ukrainian national and two 15-year-old Swiss nationals—admitted varying degrees of involvement in fires affecting the town since June 21. They will be reported to the Juvenile Court. The investigation is continuing to determine the circumstances of each incident and each suspect’s degree of responsibility.
