Hamburg: Centenary dinosaur sculptures at Tierpark Hagenbeck undergo inspection
On July 24, 2026, conservator Christiane Maier, 54, began inspecting the dinosaur sculptures at Hamburg's Tierpark Hagenbeck — a zoological park founded in 1907. These saurian sculptures, 117 years old, include an Allosaurus. The examination has revealed cracks, broken parts, and traces of moisture on the works. Maier's initial assessment: there is considerable work to be done. The restoration timeline, exact scope, and budget have not yet been disclosed.
