Antonio Costa, president of the European Council, said during a visit to Kyiv that the European Union was ready to welcome Ukraine as a member, according to Le Monde. He described Ukraine’s future in the EU as the best long-term guarantee of security and democratic stability, both for Ukraine and for Europe as a whole.
