Virgin Trains Approved to Link London to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam from 2030
Virgin Trains has secured access to operate international train services between London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam starting in 2030. The authorization permits up to 20 daily return journeys through the Channel Tunnel under an agreement running from 1 October 2030 to 31 December 2040. The company must still obtain access to additional railway networks and receive multiple safety approvals from UK and European regulators before launching services. Virgin plans to invest £700 million in the project and create approximately 400 jobs in the UK.
