Berghotel Fafleralp Saved by Million-Franc Donation After Blatten Landslide
Berghotel Fafleralp in Blatten, Lötschental valley in Valais, was the only hotel in the village to be spared by a landslide that devastated the region. Despite its intact buildings, the establishment faced closure as a result of the natural disaster. A donation of several million Swiss francs has now secured the hotel's future. Since the disaster, the village of Blatten has received tens of millions of francs in financial aid from various sources. However, some local businesses worry they may not benefit from these support measures.
